Pumptrack

We supported Concept Evolution, responding to a call for tenders with Alp'études and Colas, to take over the unfinished Argonay pumptrack site. 

As it turned out, the town of Argonay assigned the contract to a company without pumptrack construction expertise, ending up with an incomplete and inadequate pumptrack.

The creation of mountain bike and pumptrack tracks requires very specific skills and techniques, both in the use of mechanical shovels and public works machinery, and with classic hand tools. 

It's not uncommon for machine operators who are recognized experts in their field to realize, once on site, their lack of knowledge and training in the creation of these specific structures. This results in structures that are very difficult for project owners to repair and maintain. 

This job of modifying an existing layout was more technical than if we'd done everything from scratch. We had to work constantly with the machines without being flat, which made sculpting the clay modules very difficult. 

As the Argonay skateboard association has many members, we have taken their requests into account in order to offer a pleasant trail for both mountain biking and skateboarding. 

We did manage to complete the project, however, and it's now one of the region's most popular sports facilities.
