Blackorn is first and foremost a team of enthusiasts with a wide range of skills, from engineering and audiovisual production to the creation of extraordinary sporting events.
We've dedicated a large part of our lives to mountain biking. Today, we'd like to do our bit to help it grow in France and Europe.
We're convinced that in the years to come, mountain biking will gain in popularity and become an essential mountain sport activity, just as skiing was in the 1950s. And we're determined to make it happen.
Our main ambition is to develop the mountain bike offer by designing and building infrastructures adapted to everyone. Our aim is to facilitate access and promote safe progress for all riders, whatever their age or level.
We also aspire to promote mountain biking by organizing unique, out-of-the-ordinary events of a new kind: open to all and aimed at professionals and amateurs alike.
In this same effort, we contribute to the popularization of the sport by producing and distributing captivating photo and video content, to help as many people as possible discover it.
With 10 years' experience in cycling, and having practiced almost all mountain bike disciplines (cross country, trials, BMX race, freestyle skatepark, slopestyle, downhill, freeride), we have the necessary hindsight to meet the specific requirements of each discipline.
The diversity of the projects we've worked on has given us in-depth expertise, enabling us to develop a comprehensive, tailor-made offering.
From the beginning, we've always made it a priority to share our passion with as wide an audience as possible.
It's passing on our experience and enthusiasm for mountain biking, through the creation of purpose-built infrastructures, that motivates us in every project. This desire to share guides our steps and inspires our day-to-day work.
When we commit to a promise, we do everything we can to deliver a product that lives up to our customers' expectations.
We are also committed to minimizing our ecological impact, and to ensuring that our infrastructure is properly sited. Mountain biking depends on nature, so it must be at the heart of our discussions.
We are first and foremost a team of enthusiasts, driven by a common desire: to convey the extraordinary range of emotions and sensations that cycling provides in all its forms, at all levels of riding.
We see mountain biking as more than just a sporting activity, it's also a wonderful vehicle for self-expression and self-improvement.
Our training at the École Normale Supérieure des Technologies et Industrie du Bois (ENSTIB) has made us particularly aware of the ecological context, landscape layout and preservation of the natural environment on which we depend for mountain biking. We are committed to developing environmentally-friendly solutions in close collaboration with ecological protection stakeholders (ONF, environmental protection, etc.).
At the same time, we firmly believe that the development of trails and the organization of events require constructive dialogue and active cooperation with local stakeholders, including elected representatives, businesses, riders and associations. The social aspect of the location of our infrastructures is at the heart of our concerns. Bringing this issue to the forefront is essential to ensure harmony between our activities and the environment in which we operate.
I started cycling at a very young age in BMX racing, and then moved on to slopestyle, taking part in the FMB World Tour. Freeriding has always attracted me. I had the incredible opportunity to ride the Loosefest in 2016, which confirmed me in this direction for the following years. So naturally, the desire to create events and trails specifically for this sport began to germinate in my head.
However, I was keen to pursue my engineering studies alongside my sporting life. My studies at the Ecole Normale Supérieure des Technologies et Industries du Bois (ENSTIB) enabled me to develop my skills in timber construction, project management and forestry.
I then had the good fortune to cross paths with Benjamin Desreaux. From the outset, we shared a common vision and an unwavering determination to bring ever more ambitious projects to fruition.
My experience in coaching young people in enduro mountain biking, combined with my own high-level experience in gymnastics and cycling, enabled me to bring a complete perspective to our projects. From the outset, I was keen to design courses that met the expectations of riders of my level, while being accessible and enriching for those just starting out.
Right from the start, we were driven by a shared passion that enabled us to see our projects through to the end, whatever the difficulties. We also immediately complemented each other. In my opinion, that's what makes a solid team.
Over the past five years, we have developed specific expertise and skills in the creation of sporting events for all levels, and in the design and manufacture of sports structures around mountain biking. Above all, we are two enthusiasts, motivated by ambitious projects to develop our sport and bring our know-how to our partners.
