The mountain bike sports section at Xertigny college had a 120m2 covered area, but no facilities. Without electricity or adequate lighting.
It was designed for trial mountain biking/maneuverability for UNSS competitions.
It was clear that this area needed to be developed specifically for mountain biking.
The specifications were as follows:
-Modular and modifiable space to adapt to the level of the students and offer fun and varied exercises.
-Presence of rolling stock
-Presence of trialising obstacles
-Dedicated area for bike maintenance and briefings during sports sessions.
We therefore designed and calculated a 60m2 mezzanine floor in accordance with the Eurocode standard, as well as innovative, easy-to-assemble modules inspired by LEGO, enabling us to create an almost infinite variety of routes.
An electrical installation and adequate lighting were also provided by an external service provider.
Today, this space is an essential educational tool for the mountain biking section at Xertigny secondary school, and will enable future generations to progress and develop mountain biking in this Vosges region.
